WCMM Lund bids farewell to two valued members of its management group and welcomes a new colleague to continue driving the centre’s daily operations and strategic development.

The daily operations at WCMM Lund are overseen by an operative management group. During weekly meetings, the group coordinates ongoing activities such as recruitments, the IGNITE postdoctoral program, research seminars and events, and also discusses long-term strategies and national collaborations that shape the centre’s future.

In recent years, the management group has included one WCMM Fellow and one WCMM clinical researcher. This model has proven highly successful, strengthening the centre’s work and fostering closer interactions across the fellow and clinical researcher community. It has also encouraged deeper engagement from researchers in the in the development of the centre.

At the end of December, two valued members of the management group will step down. Lars Dahlin, Clinical Co-Director of WCMM Lund, leaves the group as he enters retirement after years of dedicated leadership and strategic guidance. Vinay Swaminathan, WCMM Fellow, concludes his two-year term, during which he has contributed important perspectives from early-career research and helped strengthen connections within the centre.

WCMM Lund extends its warmest thanks to both Lars and Vinay for their significant contributions!

At the same time, the centre is pleased to welcome Paul Bourgine as the new WCMM Fellow representative in the management group. Paul brings strong scientific expertise and an active engagement in the WCMM community and his participation will help drive the centre’s development forward.
