Wallenberg Molecular Medicine Clinical Researcher - Sandra Lindstedt

The focus of cardiothoracic surgeon Sandra Lindstedt and her research team is lung transplantation. “Today, we can only use 20 percent of the donor lungs. What if we could recondition and regain lung function of just a portion of those lungs that we cannot use today? That would have a huge impact for patients on the waiting list for lung transplantation.”

Sandra Lindstedt is a senior consultant in thoracic surgery at Skåne University Hospital and a researcher at Wallenberg Centre for Molecular Medicine (WCMM). In 2022, every week a researcher working at WCMM at Lund University and Skåne University Hospital is presented. In the video, Sandra Lindstedt shares more about her research.
