Interfaces between systems and translational research. Lectures and seminars by WCMM fellows (https://www.wcmm.lu.se/wcmm-lund-researchers) and guest speakers will highlight the importance for research at the interface between physiological systems, bridging basic science and clinical research. The topics covered include inter-organ communication, biomedical engineering and imaging. Journal clubs will foster discussion on current literature. Research methods workshops will introduce common as well as state-of-the-art approaches in molecular and regenerative medicine.

Career and scientific development. The WCMM research school curriculum includes workshops for developing communication skills, such as research project presentations and public engagement (public outreach). Trainees will participate in a variety of activities with a focus on cross-disciplinary and translational research such as: project design, scientific writing, funding, research ethics. Trainees further have the opportunity to discuss career development strategies with WCMM fellows and guest researchers.
