Nicholas Leigh is one of nine prominent researchers selected to join the Academy this year. The newly elected members represent a broad range of research fields, including artificial intelligence, brain research, regenerative medicine, climate science, sustainability and ancient history.
The Young Academy of Sweden is an interdisciplinary academy that brings together some of the country's most outstanding early-career researchers. Established in 2011 at the initiative of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the Academy serves as an independent platform that gives younger researchers a strong voice in the research policy debate and works to promote research and science engagement among children and young people.
Membership is awarded to exceptional and independent researchers from all academic disciplines who are actively conducting research in Sweden and are committed to contributing to the Academy's activities. Members are elected for a five-year term and collaborate on issues of importance to science and society, supported by a dedicated secretariat.
As a member of the Young Academy, Nicholas Leigh will join a network of Sweden's leading young research leaders, contributing to discussions on research policy, scientific development, and the role of research in society.
