Specialisation at Lund University

The Wallenberg Centre for Molecular Medicine at Lund University  (WCMM LU) has its focus on regenerative medicine in basic and translational research as well as in clinical application.

All announced tenure track positions at WCMM LU will therefore be within the general field of Regnerative Medicine (restoration of normal cell-, tissue- and organ function by regeneration, replacement, and repair).

Further specialisation can be related to, for example, one of the specific areas mentioned below but topics bridging different areas and topics related to relevant infrastructure can also be possible.

Additional details about the specialisation requirements will be given in each tenure track announcement.

In the successful application made by Lund University to the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation in December 2014 the following specific areas were identified and described in more detail:

  • Endocrine system
  • Respiratory system
  • Hematopoetic system
  • Heart / Vasculature system
  • Musculoskeletal system
  • Nervous system
  • Regulation in regenerative medicine
  • Medical structural biology

In addition, available Infrastructure was described.
